I forked up! With less than two minutes to go to finish the repairs on the RV, I got our beloved Pastor Williams killed in the Run N Gun series. It is all highlighted on my L30 Twitch video. Of course I was goofing around and having some fun with the viewers when I received a text message. I was driving in a place that I really did not need to be, it was just all fun and games right? Well in the process of reading the text, I hit the gas instead of the brake which resulted in me crashing my vehicle and causing Pastor Williams to get mauled by a feral and a dozen Zeds. Mind you this all happened within walking distance from home base. Fortunately for me this happened while playing a video game and not driving in the real world where real people could have been killed. I do not ever "TEXT" or even mess with my phone while driving in real life. The two major places I commute for work on a regular basis are Houston, Texas and New Orleans, Louisiana, both of which resemble the streets of Danforth on any given day and distracted driving is the contributing factor in most of the accidents I see in the real world. In the real world I call my wife before I leave work and let her know I am on my way home. I almost always stop and get a fountain drink at the corner store half a mile from home and I call my wife and let her know I am almost home. This is a courtesy call so she will not worry that I am still out on the road. After I get home a few minutes later, my wife and our dog George are waiting at the front door to greet me home.
In my game world, one of the Run N Gun crew members (Jhori) had to go retrieve Pastor Williams' belongings (corpse) because he would never be coming home and rejoining the group, because he fell victim to distracted driving. I know in State of Decay we get pretty attached to our characters and it is always a tragedy when we lose one of them, but the truth of the matter is they are just a computer animated character. We will quickly replace them in game with a substitute character and keep playing on. However, in real life there is no substitute or fill in for you if you do not make it home safely because you were involved in a "texting & driving" accident. Again fortunately my accident occurred in the virtual Trumbull Valley and not on a real life highway. So this is my public service message: "DO NOT BE A FORK UP! DO NOT TEXT, EMAIL, WATCH YOUTUBE VIDEOS OR ANYTHING ELSE THAT COULD DISTRACT YOU WHILE DRIVING.! IT COULD BE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GETTING HOME SAFELY OR NOT GETTING HOME AT ALL!"
With that said "Ya'll have fun be safe and don't forget to reload. We will see you soon in State of Decay Breakdown Run N Gun Series L31. (With Pastor Williams' replacement character.)
